Giving to John Adams College

We’re not asking you to give to a college endowment fund that already has millions or even billions of dollars. We’re also not asking you to give to an idea or concept with only wishes and good intentions to back it up. We’re asking you to donate to John Adams College, a school that has students and graduates doing exceptionally well. We know we’re different and that’s the point. More than a dream, John Adams College is a reality that is starting to get noticed on a national scale.

All the disillusionment happening now with higher education is exactly why John Adams was founded. JAC doesn’t fit the typical university pattern. If you have questions, if you want to meet our trustees or learn more about John Adams, we would love to talk with you.

Enclosed please find a donation to John Adams College. I am now and ever will be a strong advocate of your dedication to liberal education. If our country is to endure, it will be largely because of institutions like yours and the ideals you teach. Blessings on you and yours!

John Adams College doesn’t accept government funding. Its only sources of revenue besides tuition, the only help our students get with scholarships and financial aid, is through private donations from people who want something different from higher ed, people like you. Please donate to John Adams College today. Your contribution is tax-deductible.

I was very happy to make the contribution, and I am, as always, ever grateful for people like you who give so much of themselves to support education. The current state of education in our country does not bode well for a healthy democracy, but “a man’s reach should exceed his grasp or what’s a heaven for?”  Education never gets the attention it deserves. Since the early Greek philosophers there have been those who haven’t understood its value. But there have also been those who did understand. They have been in the minority, but they have kept the promise of the liberal arts alive. E. M. Forster, writing of them, said “their temple is the Holiness of the Heart’s imagination, and their kingdom, though they never possess it, is the wide-open world.” You and your colleagues belong to that small group, and I salute you all for swimming so valiantly upstream. I also wish I could be there with you. What a pleasure it would be to work with you, your faculty, and your students. Keep the faith! Pax vobiscum!
